Benrinnes Information

There is no doubt that Benrinnes is a Cadenhead's favourite and it isn't hard to work out why.

Not known for being a single malt (being only occasionally seen as such where it displays a meaty character), which gives independent bottlers the perfect opportunity to showcase distilleries like Benrinnes.

The current location of the Benrinnes distillery is actually its second site. The original was built in 1826 by a man named Peter MacKenzie but this was destroyed in a 1829 flood. A new site was then found by John Innes.

Tasting Notes

Nose:

Kiwi fruits, icing sugar and Brazil nuts

Flavour:

Slight earthy and dunnage notes, dark chocolate and green apples

Finish:

Cajun spice, paprika and a fruitiness with pears and more apples
