Teaninich Information

The most fascinating part of Teaninich is the hammer mill and mash filter – the only one operational in a Scottish malt distillery – that was installed in 2000. This removes the need for a mash tun, produces clear wort, and heavily influences the whisky's nature: it is flagrant and floral, bringing to mind a freshly cut grassy field in springtime.

In the modern whisky industry, Teaninich is mostly used for blends.

Tasting Notes

Nose:

Banana leaves, whole mangoes, brandy butter and faint figs.

Flavour:

Thick, lychee, icing sugar, spearmint and fennel. Hints of calvdos and dark chocolate.

Finish:

Refreshing with popping candy, watermelon and peaches in syrup.
