Glenrothes-Glenlivet Information

A weighty and complex spirit, Glenrothes whisky is produced on its site in Moray. Time and patience are key for the production, with a long distillation process and a decidedly lengthy maturation (which is arguably necessary due to the spirit style and cask types used).

The single malt is known for combining nuts and fruits with a distinctly sweet spiciness.

Tasting Notes

Nose:

Thick sherry nose, raisins, figs and soft brown sugar. Some distant ash notes and then redcurrant jelly.

Flavour:

Big mouthfeel, soft spices with dry sherry notes. Melted chocolate, jelly sweets and freshly peeled ginger.

Finish:

Growing toffee notes, mixing with raspberries and brambles along with whole cinnamon sticks and ground nutmeg.
