Benrinnes Information

There is no doubt that Benrinnes is a Cadenhead's favourite and it isn't hard to work out why.

Not known for being a single malt (being only occasionally seen as such where it displays a meaty character), which gives independent bottlers the perfect opportunity to showcase distilleries like Benrinnes.

The current location of the Benrinnes distillery is actually its second site. The original was built in 1826 by a man named Peter MacKenzie but this was destroyed in a 1829 flood. A new site was then found by John Innes.

Tasting Notes

Nose:

Peaches and cream, faint rhubarb, cocktail bitters, golden syrup and agave syrup.

Flavour:

Growing fruitiness, pistachio nuts, white chocolate and hints of dark chocolate. Faint white pepper and lemon sherbet.

Finish:

Lingering fruit syrup with pineapples, cherries and kiwi fruit. Bramble jelly and a distant hint of a dunnage warehouse.
