Bunnahabhain Information

An imperious and impressive distillery located on the north-east of Islay - the location was decided by William Robertson (of Robertson & Baxter) along with Greenlees Bros back in 1881. This remote location meant that they had to build houses as well, constructing a road and a pier too, so that workers could live nearby and casks & barley could come in with whisky going out.

Production has increased in recent times, leading to investment in the distillery site - including a visitor centre.

Tasting Notes

Nose:

Ripe fruits, marzipan, smoked fish, bakewell tart and almonds.

Flavour:

Fruit cake, juicy sultana, battenberg and honey roasted walnuts.

Finish:

Tomato vines, green strawberries, red cherries, dry and chalky.
