With initial sweet notes of milk chocolate and honey, this Finnish rye whisky develops with a savoury finish with a hint of spice featuring notes of mint, rye bread and pink peppercorns.

Kyro Rye Information

Kyrö Distilling Company was founded in Isokyrö, Finland (with the original idea being conceived in a sauna) and it makes its Rye Whisky from Finnish wholegrain rye.

They began distilling in an old dairy (after they removed the cars that were being stored in there) and the spirit became recognisable due to its pepperiness, balanced with notes of caramel & vanilla.

Tasting Notes

Nose:

Orange zest, milk chocolate, fresh bread and fruit loaf.

Flavour:

Chocolate Orange, cinnamon, morello cherries and honey notes.

Finish:

Soft sweetness, basil, mint and spicy notes with pink peppercorn.
