This unpeated expression from Tobermory distillery was fully matured in a refill sherry butt. Fruity and deliciously savoury, this whisky features notes of caramel, leather, buttered ginger bread and honey roasted almonds.

Tobermory Information

Located on the beautiful island of mull, Tobermory Distillery produces both peated and unpeated whisky for Ledaig and Tobermory single malts and blends.

It utilises a somewhat short fermentation time, but it is the unusual shape of the stills which prove crucial for the Tobermory style. They include both boil bulbs and an interesting S-shaped portion in their lyne arms, increasing reflux.

Tasting Notes

Nose:

Cereal grain sweetness, sultanas, leather, caramel.

Flavour:

Buttered gingerbread, blackcurrant jam, chocolate and honeyed almonds.

Finish:

Raspberry, chocolate covered oat biscuits, honey.
