Our tasting panel commented on the nose of this whisky, stating it was a 'proper old style whisky' on the nose. With notes of old books, rich mahogany, blood oranges and figs; we can see why our panel were so fond of this dram!

Glenfarclas Information

Heating its stills with direct fire to give the spirit weight is especially useful given Glenfarclas' commitment to maturation in ex-Sherry casks.

This produces a whisky which is rich, resonant and capable of extremely long ageing.

Did you know that Glenfarclas "pioneered" cask strength bottling, at least that what's they claim, in 1968? And they were one of the first distilleries to open their doors to the public - way back in 1975 - long before such activities were common.

Tasting Notes

Nose:

Leather, old books, engine oil, old cellar, rich mahogany.

Flavour:

Whipped milk chocolate, dates, cured meats, bbq basted meat.

Finish:

Blood orange, old fashioned cocktail, Angostura bitters, figs.
