Glen Grant-Glenlivet Information

Glen Grant-Glenlivet is situated in Rothes and has a storied and celebrated history. It was making a name for itself as a valued brand back when it was not common to do so and built up a huge international following. It's still popular in the wider world to this day, in particular Italy.

These days the spirit is light and often has apple notes. Historically, the spirit has been heavier but the distillery switched from predominantly sherry casks to bourbon as part of a pursuit of a more delicate dram.

Tasting Notes

Nose:

Initial fresh grassy notes, citrus then exotic fruit syrup

Flavour:

Initial sweet tablet and butterscotch. Grape juice and peardrops also present

Finish:

Toffee meringue, vanilla fudge, lemon meringue pie with clotted cream
