A fascinating Speyside whisky from Knock, Banffshire. A spicy and nutty nose, which softens as the dram progresses. Sweet, fruity notes are very apparent as soon as you taste it and this leads to a dry finish with tomato notes. Look out for meaty hints too.

Knockdhu Information

Located in Knock, Banffshire, this distillery produces a vibrant and open young spirit that has a citrusy edge. The whisky becomes thicker as it ages, especially after it loses the initial sulphur hit and begins to take on the cask influence.

In recent times, the owners have created a wetland area beyond the grounds where the spent lees is treated.

Tasting Notes

Nose:

Very wintery, spiciness, nutmeg, all spice, coconut, star anise.

Flavour:

Italian sausage, dry figs, Battenberg cake.

Finish:

Dry finish, sun-dried tomatoes, green house vine tomatoes, winey.
