Knockdhu Information

Located in Knock, Banffshire, this distillery produces a vibrant and open young spirit that has a citrusy edge. The whisky becomes thicker as it ages, especially after it loses the initial sulphur hit and begins to take on the cask influence.

In recent times, the owners have created a wetland area beyond the grounds where the spent lees is treated.

Tasting Notes

Nose:

Gingerbread smothered in melting salted butter, apricot yoghurt with pineapple fritters and bannana bread.

Flavour:

White chocolate buttons, lemon drizzle cake and almond flakes. Soft lime zest and green apple skins.

Finish:

Spiced apples with runny honey and butterscotch sweets.
