Specially selected by the team at Cadenhead's Campbeltown, this 16yo whisky from Royal Brackla distillery has been finished in a Palo Cortado hogshead since 2020. This has given the spirit delicious notes of dried fruits, salted caramel, Christmas cake and a touch of cinnamon to finish.

Royal Brackla Information

Historically known for its smoky spirit - although that has changed over time - Royal Brackla was founded in 1817 by Captain William Fraser.

This made Fraser deeply unpopular with the moonshiners in the area but his whisky was a great success, gaining a fan in King William IV - the whisky became known by some as "The King's Own Whisky."

These days, the spirit is known for its fresh fruitiness and strong nose.

Tasting Notes

Nose:

Dried fruit, berries, salted caramel, reduced condensed milk.

Flavour:

Nutmeg, cigar tobacco, Christmas cake, soft brown sugar, wine gums.

Finish:

Liquorice, stewed apple, cinnamon, pumpernickel bread.
