Tamnavulin, from Tomnavoulin, Ballindalloch, Banffshire, is one of the many distilleries built in the boom period of the 1960s to keep up with the public interest. Sweet and zesty with lots of fruity notes - such as pineapple, grapefruit and banana - through most of the dram but the finish is more mellow and provides a calming, smooth end to the experience.

Nose:

Stone fruits, syrup, pineapple, peach, grapefruit

Flavour:

Lemon zest, banana fritter, caramel sauce, creamy with a suitable tanginess

Finish:

Fermented fruits, flat cola, dime bars, bourbon biscuit
